Pesticides Review
Pesticides are a very common way to stop pests from destroying a farmer’s crop, but it’s also very dangerous and detrimental. These chemicals harm the environment and possibly humans as well.
In the article “The Downsides of Pesticides” by Jingi Huang in the October issue of Teen Ink, the detrimental effects of pesticides is discussed. With the issue of pesticides, they can be very helpful, for they keep bugs and pests away from our country’s crops. However, just how much they help compared to how much they harm us and other creatures is hard to say. I have to say that I agree with the use of pesticides, but I believe that when they apply them, the people should be more careful. I do understand where the author is coming from, that environment is negatively affected, but pesticides do help humans and stop crops from being destroyed. Actually, I’m not surprised someone would think like this, considering pesticides are toxic. Personally, I can’t say I’ve seen this dilemma at Ayersville.
