Girl Auction
I wholeheartedly agree with Shelby B. in her article "Girl Auction." Going through an event like an auction could be an embarrassing experience if you are not popular. Other than a girl auction being embarrassing, I agree that "it all smacks of human trafficking a bit." It is understandable that the school is trying to raise money, but "selling" girls for dates is unacceptable. I find the idea of a girl auction demeaning and degrading. Women have worked so hard to have equal rights, just to be "sold" for a fundraiser. Thank you Shelby for sharing your experience with us.
