Summary of Varsity Versus Gym Class
It talks about the stress of a highschool athlete, and how gym class just drains student even more. She says that gym class should be at the end of the day and shouldnt be a strinous. At the end of the day so that students can be get headway to there sport. She also states after that running, lifting, and other activities will drain a students energy. It also talks about how gym teachers are starting to give grades based on your heart rate. Which is obviously in favor of an athlete. The article talks about how much later varsity athletes get home than everyone else. Usually leaving them doing homework late into the night instead of mid day where thier mind would be must stronger. Wants coaches to start practice during gym class making students get home earlier and helping cause less energy because less sleep means your body is more able to get hurt.
