In “The Power of the Teenage Girl” by Dana Kaufhold, the topic of why teenage girls are a positive group in society today is argued.  It is true that girls are actually more caring and positive as they come across, “we give compliments like they cost nothing because they do,” but they are only caring and positive to their closest friends and expectable people.   There’s something missing from this article that is a very important factor to this entire argument: the girls that are always overlooked.  What I mean by over looked is girls that don’t even get a say in society because society has already taken one look at them and said that they aren’t good or pretty enough.   These girls don’t have anyone to compliment them on their appearance; they are bashed behind their back instead.

Teenaged girls are amazing friends and people, “I believe in making the people who run our society angry and confused because we’re daring to take the world by storm,” but how are we supposed to take over the world if we only have our friends to back us up?  As girls we can’t be powerful until every girl is included.  We need to break out of our comfort zone and compliment and help out the girls that we never talk to.  We need to be able to talk to the girls that are always overlooked without being afraid of being judged by our friends.   The power of the teenage girl won’t be powerful until we except everyone.
