In “Is Golf a Sport” by Annie L., a girl questions the stereotype of golf not being a real sport.  Annie states that fifty percent of people don’t believe that golf is a sport according to an Internet survey.  She then goes on to talk about the history of golf and all the major championships that take place around the world.  After giving a brief understanding of the games greatest players past and present, she compares golf to all the other sports.  “There is no sprinting, leaping, or lightning stutter steps involved.”  Annie is claiming that though golf isn’t a flashy sport it has potential.

Reading this article numerous times, I thought it was a “flashy” article.  I liked how Annie proved the stereotype of golf not being a real sport to be unreasonable.  “There may be no spiking, dunking, or kicking.  But there are pitches fine-tuned to a surgeon’s blade, sometimes firmly and with roll, sometimes delicately carrying side spin.”  I believe that she does a great job explaining that just because something is different doesn’t make it boring.
