Why the U.S. Should Accept Syrian Refugees
The topic of whether Syrian refugees should be allowed into the United States has been a very controversial topic for quite some time now, and I concur with Max Liu's opinion on the matter, that "the United States should allow more refugees to enter the country using the tough screening measures that we have in place." There isn't any reason why we should be excluding people who are living in fear and devastation, when statistics prove very few of them are true terrorists. Americans are simply just paranoid another attack will occur, but these innocent refugees are suffering in their country because of real threats like ISIS. Max reminds readers of the similar occurence during the Holocaust, when many Jewish refugees were not allowed in America and a majority of them killed. Shouldn't we have learned from what happened then? With all of these arguments, I agree that more refugees should be allowed into the US.
