What to do with the D
About 50 years ago, maybe less, Detroit was the big guns of michigan. It was a great place to live, auto centeral, all around boss. So what happend? Why is everyone so afraid of it? Why can't they see the big picture? That is my goal. You see, I am a detroit girl. Practicly grew up there. Don't people realize the fact that in a big city, there is always a bad area. Take NYC. Chicago. Miami. Etc. But someone scared of detroit would still be happy to go to NYC. Why, you ask? I have my suspiscions. NYC, in the pictures and articles, is bright lights, shopping galore, big eats. It's all true, but they missed a huge part. downtown, the alleys, harlem. To me, they may have it worse then detroit. you see, in detroit, there is comerica park, greektown, hockytown, joe lewis, mexican town. Shall i go on? But thats not whats in the pics. NO, all they show is the ruins, the ugly parts.
