Thank you Mom and Dad

Dear Mom and Dad,

I wanted to thank you for all your dedication and support you have had on me for the past 10 years of my soccer career. From driving me to my first practice, to flying me to my last showcase, you both have been so supportive by motivating me and holding me accountable for myself. 

Thank you for dedicating your nights and weekends driving me to practices and games, even when the weather was horrible, or I felt unmotivated to play, I always had one of you there to push me the extra step to put in my best effort. One memory I have is when I was playing in a game in 40 degree weather with sideways rain and I remember looking at the sidelines and seeing both of you standing there watching me play when no other parents were on the sidelines watching. I remember in that moment feeling much gratitude and as happy as if the sun was shining on me in the rain. 

Now, it's safe to say all of the years of hard work and dedication has been worth it. Being able to commit to play division 1 soccer at a top 10 is a dream come true; however, also being able to earn a full-ride scholarship has been the most rewarding part of my soccer success. Receiving a full ride scholarship is one of the million ways I can repay you guys for the amount of money and dedication you have put into me. I would not be where I am today if I didn’t have you guys with me along the way.
