Why She's Cold

She was wary of them at first. They were different. They were new. She was strange, but they accepted her.

At first she hated them. But she got to know them, and she began to actually consider them friends. She helped them with homework, and she gave them constant gifts “just because.”

But the inevitable happened. Time passed. She matured, became smarter and understood better. She began to see more of their habits and became more aware of what they do that annoys her. They lost their fun. They got boring. They became nuisances.

So she became cold. She acted rude, ignored them, helped them less. She gave up her own belongings for them less often. She talked to them less.

She became less social. She became guarded and defensive, cold and calculating.

She lost her smile.

An experience of mine meant to send out a message to others about why I seem cold or unhappy. Also tried to be repetitive to make a point.
