Al Thornton
Al Thornton was born December 7, 1983 and was raised in Perry, Georgia. Thornton went to Perry High School. After high school he was accepted to Florida State. In college he was averaging 20 points a game. His season ended with a big upset. The Seminoles did not qualify for the NCAA tournament for the ninth straight season.
On January 28, 2007, Thornton was accepted by the LA Clippers. Thornton also has the same agent as Yao Ming. When Thornton was played his first game he scored 24 points. Unfortunately he still lost the game.
In his third Thornton preseason game he dragged his team to victory over the Golden State Warriors. Thornton had 24 points that game.
Because of Ruben Paterson’s return, Thornton had stopped receiving the play that he’s been receiving. But lucky for Thornton, other players were hurt, so Thornton took advantage of his time playing power forward.
After New Year, Thornton averaged 15 points per game and 4.9 rebounds per game. On January 30, 2008, Thornton scored a season high of 33 points in a game. His team carried on to beat our own Atlanta Hawks.
On March 29, 2008, Thornton equaled a rookie franchise record and also a Clippers record of 39 points over the Grizzlies. Thornton scored 20 of the 39 points in the 4th quarter. Amazingly May 13, 2008, Thornton was accepted to the NBA All Rookie team.
Later with Corey Maggette and Elton Brand no longer, Thornton has been expected to be one of the season’s biggest rising stars.
In Al Thornton’s 2 seasons he has averaged 15 points, 2 assist, and a field goal percentage of 31 per game.
