The History of Ballet Dancing
Ever since I was little I was fascinated with ballet dancing but I never knew where it began. The earliest sign of ballet was given in the court of Renaissance, Italy in 1489. The first ballet was developed in France called the Queen's Ballet Comedy. Most French Court Ballet's consisted of dance scenes linked by a minimum of plot. They were designed for the entertainment of the aristocracy, rich costumes, scenery, and elaborate stage effects. The professional dancers first made their appearance in the mid-1600's. In the early 1400's Dominica di Piacenza described theatrical dances called balleto. This topic is important to me because I am a dancer and it's teaching me the history of where dance started, without it there would be nothing.
