Bad Accident

I woke up one hot summer day feeling sore from the past days of playing sports. I walked outside and saw that the hydrant pump had been opened and kids were already outside getting wet. I saw my father’s friend with a monkey bar in his hand so I instantly knew who opened the pump. My father’s friend’s name was Luis Guerrola, he was about seven feet tall, and had a goatee. Luis is a fun guy to play with, but he is serious most of the time.

I went back inside and invited two of my friends over, Alex and Lupyo. We played video games and ate snacks for hours. It was around 8:00pm and Luis opened the pump again because it was boiling outside. I felt that if I didn’t get in the water I would melt. So my friends and I went into the roaring water that came out of the pump.

A couple of minutes passed and we were soaked wet. Then a red Nissan Maxima came down the block and a bald guy was driving it. He motioned Luis to go over to him to talk. Lupyo and I began to talk about how the guy in the car looked like trouble. He wasn’t a friendly looking guy, and we could hear what he was saying,

“Hey a small four door car will come by right now, be careful bro.”

“What? Why? Who is it? What will the dude in the car do?” asked Luis.

“Sorry bro, I don’t know,” answered the man in the Nissan Maxima.

The man in the Nissan drove off and Luis closed the pump. He started to panic and picked up a brick. I was able to tell something bad was about to happen because I heard a car coming. A black Chrysler 300 came down the block pretty fast, about 30 or 40 mph. I looked behind me and was that Luis had thrown the brick he was holding at the Chrysler 300. The brick went through the car’s windshield and hit the driver. The Chrysler hit my neighbor’s fence. Luckily no one was hurt. A woman came out of the car with a crying baby in her arms. Luis was shaken and just kept repeating, “Sorry.” Luis tried to explain to the woman,

“I didn’t mean to,” but kept getting suck.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, so I quickly put on my shoes on then I heard a loud PLOP! The driver had fallen out, blood was pouring out of his forehead. He was twitching and kept gagging. I found myself getting closer to the man until the woman screamed,

“I’ll kill you!”

“I’m sorry,” Luis replied.

“I hate you!”

“I’ll do anything for you just don’t call the cops!”

“Just call an ambulance,” cried the woman.

Luis took out his cell phone and dialed 911. A couple of minutes later an ambulance came. The paramedics got the man into the ambulance and the woman got in. Before she left in a cool voice,

“Everyone deserves a second chance”

The ambulance drove away and I kept thinking to myself’ “Everyone deserves a second chance.” I began to wonder if a person like Luis should deserve a second chance. That saved Luis a couple years in jail and I think he deserved not going to jail. I hope Luis won’t try anything like that again!
