For years, furries have been looked down upon and ridiculed by others in society.
I myself am a furry, and the fact that many people find this taboo and would ridicule and scold me and others who are furries as well is irritating enough. It is rare if I am ever bullied or made fun of for being what I am, but it still hurts when it does happen. Is it really a crime or taboo to be what I am and express myself and my beliefs? Others may say so, but then again, there are a handful of people that love and accept us for who we are. Furries have done so much for society, regardless of the oppression and ridicule that has been following them. They have held conventions where they raise money to donate to the research of diabetes and autism, as well as other medical issues. Furries create art and stories, and have even gone so far as to make movies. Yet, the media continues to slander their image by misinforming the general public. I am a furry, and proud of it. Those who would see this as taboo and ridicule me, and others like me, need to realize that we haven’t done anything wrong and don’t deserve to be looked down on.
