What are stereotypes? It is a oversimplified image or idea about a person or a thing. People and things get stereotyped on a daily bases around the whole world. An example would be: Men are the only ones who can be strong or women have to do all the house work. But in reality none of that is true. We can be who or what ever we want to be. Im not trying to make it seem like all stereotypes are bad because a lot are good too.

People are being stereotyped in school. We automatically think that if a girl is wearing all black that she is emo or if your overweight other people think you’re weird. We practically grow up learning that stereotyping is a normal thing and it’s good. But I don't think that the parents and the teachers know that they are teaching kids that it okay because thats the way they grew up.

In school stereotypes effect peoples emotions and personality. Kid is school get jugged on what they wear and how expensive or cheap their clothes are. You might be wearing a hundred dollar pair of shoes and you would automatically be put in with the rich kids but in reality you have been saving up for those shoes for months now.
Kids in school are very vulnerable. So, even if you said the smallest thing that you would think is harmless could be a big thing to the other person that could potentially hurt them. Stereotyping can lead to depression, lacking in school ,and even suicide if it get to a curtain extent.

It’s a major problem in our schools and one way to fix it if we have school get togethers so we can bond and socialize. I feel like if kids got to know each other the stereotyping wouldn't be as bad as it is today. If we don’t try stoping the amount of stereotypes now it could get out of hand.
