Love Letter
Saturday March 29, 2009
Dear Wes,
From the moment I first laid eyes on you I knew I loved you, I knew I adored you. That was one year ago. Now this is 8th grade and still I haven't gathered the courage to ask you out. Now you are dating a friend of mine, do you see my jealousy? Do you know how I suffer everyday at lunch when you sit at our table, making it just a little harder for me to eat? Do you see the way I humor your boring jokes and though no one laughs I do to myself for to show affection would be high treason to my friend. I can't last much longer and stay in a good mood, if you see that you truly are a genius. I had hoped show choir would break the ice a little but you are more stubborn than my little sister.
I sighed as one year ago I thought of the embrace that would never be, the kiss that could never be, the love and devotion that knew didn't exist. So maybe high school brings surprises, but I think that I should move on, spread my wings and move with the wind, and leave you far behind in my past.
Goodbye old addiction,
Old Admirer
