Hola! Buenas tardes. That's what I remember the beginning of sophomore year. He probably thought I didn't know any Spanish but by the second or third week he had realized my Spanish was good and I had to be moved up to a higher level. One day he told me that the there was this test that you could take to see the level of your Spanish. And that if I passed it I would be moving to a higher level of Spanish. At first I wasn't so sure about it but then again I did realize that his class was super easy for me and that I had to be in a more difficult class. I wasn't the only taking that test there were other kids he told to take it. If it wasn't for Señor Davis (as he likes to be called) I would be thinking of becoming a nurse. Rather then what I want to study now is to be a translator/interpreter. By taking that test I was able to move to Spanish 1 to Spanish 3. And earning the credits I need to graduate like that. But I decided why not take more Spanish classes it won't hurt.
His way of teaching is like any other Spanish teacher. I believe that if it wasn't for Sr. Davis I would still be stuck on deciding what major to take in college. I know I'm just a junior and I still have time to think about it but time flies. I know I only had him for two marking periods but with that he proves that he knew that I had to be in a higher Spanish level.
He cares not just for his students but for others. I'm in the National Honor Society and he was involved in a donation for children. You could donate any jackets or hoodies you didn't need. He was not just the Spanish teacher but he also helped or was the teacher for the PSAT. In that class one day I was called to the administrator’s office to find out that I had done really good on the test I took and was being moved to Spanish 3. When I went back to class and I told him that I no longer was going to be in his class he was proud that I was being put in a class were I needed to learn more then what I already knew. If it wasn't for Señor Davis I wouldn't be thinking into being a translator later in life.
