Dear Soldier
Dear Soldier,
My name’s Adrian. I know right now while you're reading this, you're probably somewhere far from home, but I also know that the ones who love you are thinking of you. You will be forever in their thoughts and in their hearts. When you're feeling low at the front line, remember the feeling of being with your loved ones. Remember the warmth of their arms, and the quiet whispers of the prayers they send to you everyday. Remember that when you're fighting, you’re fighting for us, the people of the United States and the protection of the world, and you're fighting for the ones you love. Most importantly you're fighting for yourself, fighting so that you can go home one day and bury yourself in the arms of everyone you know. You are brave, strong and triumphant. What you do today and the next will impact our lives forever. The tears you shed today will be the scars that bind our country together tomorrow. When I was younger I remember my father recounted to me the story of his father who’d died in World War Two, and how his bravery earned him the Purple Heart badge. Since then it’s been my goal, the one thing I aspire to do, to be great and to help everyone around me. Right now I’m simply a choir student but one day I hope to sing songs of battle and of triumph. Of glory and love. Today you may seem small, one voice, but look around you. Look at the men and women by your side. These are the people who will carry you. Serve beside you. They will be your voice and together you will stand up as a person, as a people, as a country. Thank you for your continuous service, your bravery and your determination. You will be our stepping stone to a better future. You are brave and strong. Never forget that when all the chips are down, that the ones you love are there in your heart cheering for you. They are there in your soul giving you all you need. Good luck and remember “Army Strong.”
