How To (Successfully) Curl Your Eyelashes
Have you ever had trouble curling or styling your eyelashes? Addie Stanislawski, a 16-year old makeup-lover from Hartland, Wisconsin, says that she has a solid solution on how to curl your troubled lashes. Styling the eyelashes is an essential part of one’s makeup routine. In fact, it can bring a whole makeup look together, and build confidence. For some, makeup is just an everyday routine. But for others, it helps them feel better about themselves, and it may be their favorite part of getting ready for the day.
“Start from the beginning: cleanse your face. This helps refresh and cleanse your eyelashes prior to putting on mascara,” says Addie Stanislawski. Stanislawski preaches washing your face beforehand, as she has been applying makeup since the sixth grade. One of the most effective ways to spice up your lashes is to curl them. Stanislawski uses Tweezerman, a brand of eyelash curler that not only curls her lashes, but separates them. This is essential to producing the world’s best-looking eyelashes. With the eyelash curler, start at the root of the eyelid and clamp for about one minute. If your lashes don’t look lengthened enough, start over again. After curling the eyelashes, “you should then brush your eyelashes with a spoolie brush, in order to keep them long and lucious, rather than clumpy and short,” explains Stanislawski. After brushing your lashes, you should then repeat on the other side. The last, but most important step is applying the mascara. Stanislawski adores the brand Thrive, which is an online makeup brand. “First, you need to take your mascara wand and start at the middle-top of the eyelashes. Then move the wand left to right, about 10-12 times,” says Addie. Once you are done applying mascara, make sure you brush your lashes. This sets the lashes, as well as spreads them out if the mascara clumps them up.
Remember, curling your eyelashes is essential to an everyday makeup look, and may take some practice and time to successfully achieve the perfect lash. They are able to set the foundation for confidence and feeling beautiful.

I decided to interview Addie Stanislawski, who is deeply passionate about her makeup routine, about her amazing ability to curl her eyelashes and her makeup. She perfected the art of her makeup look, finalizing her routine. Ever since she was young, she decided to curl her eyelashes, which she felt made her more comfortable in her own body. Doing your makeup can make you feel confident. For this reason, I decided write this, in attempt for other girls, like Addie, to have solutions for negative feelings.
