Imagine trying to find a nice cozy place to live in America where the family can settle peacefully. When looking through all the states, Minnesota shows up and the research begins. Which option is best: small towns and friendly people or popular and busy? From my experiences, Minnesota has never been a crowded state. For example, I just recently went to the Mall of America with a couple of friends and there was barely anyone there. I want to live in Minnesota for a long time. This is because of things like family, population, and places.

The first reason I want to live in Minnesota is family. My whole family lives in Minnesota around the same place except for my aunt, uncle, and two cousins. My family only gets to see them for a limited amount of holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving. Family gatherings are what I look forward to every year or every couple of months. Family gatherings have always had the best memories. Our family has so many traditions that we’ve made. For example, every year for my family reunion we have what we call “Betty’s bake-off” to honor my Great Grandma who was good at baking. The adults have a competition and the kids have a separate competition. We make things like cake, cupcakes, and ice cream dishes. My Great Aunts and Uncles are the judges, we get a gift card as a prize if we win. So, my family is the most important reason why I want to stay in Minnesota. More specifically, almost my whole family lives here, family gatherings, and traditions. Another big reason is the number of people that live in Minnesota.

The second reason I want to live in Minnesota is the population. The population of Minnesota can change my view on the state a lot. I enjoy all of the small town activities where there are just the right amount of people. An example of this would be fairs. Such as state, valley, and town fairs. State fair and valley fair always have a lot of people but it’s not nearly as packed as it would be in a lot of other places. Fairs are one thing where the smaller population comes in handy, other activities would include boating, fishing, and hiking. When going boating and fishing in other states it can get very packed, but because of the large number of lakes we have and the smaller population, it rarely gets too busy. My Great Aunt lives on the lake and owns a pontoon, so we get to go with her sometimes during the summer. When we go to the lake there are rarely a lot of people. Minnesota has a lot of hiking trails so if anyone ever wants to go hiking it’s always an option because there will never be too many people. In most hiking places, there are no expenses. I also love that when I go to town activities or sports events I know almost everyone from our town. So, the population is a big factor in moving because there are very few people, small-town activities, and things like boating, fishing, and hiking. But, being able to go to fun places without going too far away from home is also important.

The third reason that I want to live in Minnesota is the fun places. Minnesota has a lot of fun places and landmarks that people can go to and view. Such as the Mall of America. The Mall of America is a place where a lot of people from other states will drive to Minnesota to go. It has a lot of stores and sometimes they even host live shows and weddings. For example, one time I went to a concert at the mall. Mall of America is one of the only places in Minnesota that is almost always full of people. They don’t only have stores, they have rides, mini-golf, escape rooms, and animals. For example, one time I went to the mall with my cousin and we did mini golf and rode some rides at Nickelodeon Universe. Another place that I love in Minnesota is the Minnesota zoo. I’ve been to the Minnesota zoo way more times than I can count, and I would still be willing to go anytime. It’s a great place with so many fun animals and activities including feeding the animals, and animal games such as scavenger hunts. My last example is Duluth and Lake Superior. Duluth is a great place to go, it was the first vacation I went on that I remember. There is great food there and so many places to make amazing memories. An example of this would be going out on Lake Superior. I don’t remember going on Lake Superior that much but I do remember that we went on a boat. It wasn’t a normal boat, it was also a restaurant. It was very fancy and had amazing food from what I remember. When it comes to moving, research what kinds of local activities like the mall, zoo, or Duluth because every once in a while it’s important to go out and have fun with friends and family.

In conclusion, because of family, population, and places, I want to live in Minnesota for a long time, maybe even the rest of my life. So, living in Minnesota is important to me because of all of these things: family, most of my family lives here, family gatherings, and traditions. Population, not too many people, small-town activities such as boating, fishing, hiking. Places, the Mall of America, the Minnesota Zoo, and Duluth. So when thinking of moving somewhere in America, imagine what it’s like in different states. You could also research the states and see which would be the best fit for the family. These are the reasons why I want to live in Minnesota for a long time.
