Sydney G.: What The United States Flag Stands For
What does the United States flag stand for? According Nyassembly “The thirteen stripes, resting side by side, represented the struggle for independence; red stood for valor, white signifies purity and blue represented loyalty” and well, that's not how I see it.
Strength, perseverance, and dedication make up the red, white and blue. The strength to fight and serve for this country, makes up the red. The perseverance has to keep going when they know it’s hard. When soldiers know if they don’t keep going they’ll die, is what makes up the white. The dedication one person has to make sure they do right for our country is what makes up the blue.
I’ve always wanted to help people, it’s something I love doing but I’ve never had any ideas to help me go through with it until I found out about the military. It's a very serious and hard place to be in. I thought about going into the military for a year, starting at the beginning of my junior year to signing at the beginning of senior year. At first I was thinking about joining the military because I would get a lot of good benefits and free college to find different ways to help but as I start to think, as the time gets closer to my ship date, I am ready to try and do everything I can to help. To be there for other people when they need it. To be able to make my life at risk just to save someone else’s. Not being selfish or thinking that this world revolves around them.
Thirteen stripes and 50 stars make up the United States flag of red, white and blue. Strength, perseverance, and dedication.
