Only Ball
Only Ball
September 22nd, 2023
Dear Soccer ball,
You are the one and only thing I can't live without. It seems like everyday we spend hours together. You always challenge me and take the best out of me. You have shaped me into the person I am today.
I have spent over 12 years learning how you work and everything I can do to keep you calm and happy. I have begun to master your every move and couldn't imagine not having you. The time I have invested into learning new tricks and ways to impress people, I could never do without you. The years I've spent with you have been difficult and I have learned a lot, but I could never thank you enough for how you changed my life.
The reason I choose you over everything else is because you have stood out to me since day one. My first touch I had when I was five, I could tell I was forever going to enjoy having you by my side. All the cold early mornings and the dark nights spent together have made me enjoy having you even more.
If I had to live without you I don't think I would be anyone close to who I am today. You have shaped me into the person I am, and there is nothing I regret about my first touch with the ball. You have allowed me to learn respect, reliability, and character. Putting me together with some of the greatest people I have ever met, creating forever lasting friendships and bonds between me, the ball, and other people. You are the connecting piece to many friendships I have built, and relationships I have built with coaches and family. One day without you and I would go crazy.
Thank you for shaping my life and making me who I am today.
Sincerely,
Mason
