I really don’t know what to write about. My dad always told me that a writer’s biggest battle is a blank sheet of paper, and right now, staring at this paper I understand what he meant. Staring at this blank paper, I’m thinking about my ideas, opinions, likes, dislikes, but which should I write about? Look at all this blank space, all this opportunity, but still I got nothing. I don’t understand this battle between me and this blank space. Why am I having this battle? Have I run out of ideas? Why aren’t I “flowing”? Maybe it’s just today. Maybe I should just try again tomorrow. Wait I have an idea, and now it’s gone. This blank space is blinding me, it’s making my head hurts. Maybe I should take a break. No wait, I have an idea. Hold on to it! Ok, I got it. Now how can I put this into words? Where do I start? Just write something. There’s always an eraser. Ok here we go.

I'm sure all authors feel this way sometimes. But it's not just authors. Most people have trouble putting their thoughts on paper at one time or another. This young man is right on in his thinking.
