storm
The ominous dark clouds consume the earth.
Like the sadness or maybe anger that creeps its
way through my veins. It’s like a poison, destroying
everything in its means. Leaving nothing but destruction
and heartache behind. My world is all crashing down.
Once I’m lost I won’t be found.
The thunder crackles, making the earth tremble under my
feet. Like the shaking I feel as I sit here writing this to you.
I can’t live in a storm anymore. The thunder strikes fear into
me, fearing that I might fall down.
Lightning slashes the depressing sky into a million of pieces.
Like a knife cutting through butter, I suppose. Nothing is going
to stop it from doing what it does best. No one knows when and where
it might strike next. Just like they don’t know my own plan. My plan
to end the storm. Once the rain falls I will be lost. Nothing but a memory
if that. I will drown in the rain because I can’t stand through the pain,
no more, no more.
The rain falls to the ground. Just like the tears have been doing for the
last half hour. Rain pelts the ground. And my tears make the paper damp.
The rain leaves a fresh start, unlike my tears, they just leave stains on the
note I’m writing for you. But like everything else I’m getting washed away
too. I’ll be forgotten. Everything but this last note I write will be forgotten.
For when the ominous dark clouds roll through, when the thunder crackles,
When the lighting splits the sky in two, when the rain starts to fall, I will
be gone. Because it’s all coming down, and I’m drowning in the tears the
pain the rain.
And what once was lost can’t be found. I’ll drown in the rain. The storm
is coming for me. I’m done dealing with it; I’m losing a battle that is not
mine to win. Gandhi once said that whatever you do in life is insignificant,
but it’s important you do it anyway. I agree with him. Someone asked me
what I would say to Mitch if he ever came back, if I ever saw him again.
And after years of walking through life, I have found my words I would say.
Mitch, I love you.
The thunder crackles one more time. And my eyes close. The storm won.
I gave in because I couldn’t stand in the rain, the pain. I will be lost and
Then found. I am no longer in the eye of the storm. Because I’m not here
Anymore. Nothing but the last letter I wrote will be remembered.
