Still You Broke My Heart
I used to like you in grade school. And when we connected again a few weeks ago, I thought I still liked you. But the truth is I liked the old you. I had wanted you to be the same guy I had known. But people change. Everyone knows that. It’s just that I don’t really know the person you have changed into. And what I do know about you, I don’t like. We are so different. You cuss all the time. I cuss rarely. You aren’t a Christian. I go to church twice a week. You like rap music. I can’t stand it. I don’t know why I was stupid enough to think maybe you liked me. But the truth is… I didn’t even like you, and still you managed to break my heart.
