Reality Check
When I was little, everything was perfect. When I was little, I was a daddy's girl. When I was little, I liked to believe that the world revolved around me when I knew it really didn't. When I was little, I guess I was naive enough to think nobody would leave me for the rest of my life.
Now that I'm older, I realize that nothing I do will keep people from dying. Nothings perfect, and the reality of life will eventually hit everyone in the face. Now that I'm older, I don't need to depend on my mom as much. I do get stuck with the what ifs, but what it all comes down to is I didn't have the power to stop anything. Nobody does.
When something happens, it happens, and not everything needs to have a reason. We can't get stuck in our pasts because we won't be able to move on to our future's. If, years later, we still haven't moved on, then maybe we have to figure out how to accept what has happened someway, somehow. We can't forget either, but we have to move on at some point in time.
I did.
