"If you love life, life will love you back."

Life: you choose it, it’s yours. Or is it really? “Get good grades! Be involved! Be a lady! Dress with class!” are the words that buzz through my head each and every day. I must not fail; my life is all about success. I am watched upon every move I make no matter where I am. One misstep and everybody will know. There are expectations everywhere that I must meet.
Growing up, I have always been expected to know manners, people, and everything a lady should be. I have a reputation to maintain and people to impress. Can I ever be the real me? Hiding inside is just a whole new person that wants to burst out and live in this world. I have been raised with lenience. I compose myself with class and am the person my parents expect me to be.
Athletics: I must not let down my coaches and push myself to the limit. Academics: I must show my teachers my intelligence and receive straight A’s so I can get into a good college and be successful in the future. School: I must show my best with pride and leadership to prove that I can run the school as Student Government president. Family: they all should be pleased with my actions and what I choose to do in life. Being a teenager is actually a lot to maintain. Life is not always that simple in the world of peer pressure and tough choices. So many people with so many expectations surround me like vultures ready to pick at every little flaw. I’m stuck with no way to get out.
Every day, there is something that comes up in life that I must accomplish. Either it comes from my parents, teachers, or friends. There is always just that ONE thing. It is a continuous circle of nonsense. Some may say I come off as perfect or an overachiever; but I want to flourish and live without all eyes on me. I’m a teenager and should be able to express my own opinion to my “viewers” without being judged. I learn throughout these days to truly just be you. There is always that one special group of people who accept you for who you are. You are who you are and be proud of it!

Know that life is not all about expectations. Don't be afraid of who you are.
