Every Step I Take
Tired of being in the darkness, tired of feeling pain. I've cried so many tears and bled so much pain and yelled so much anger. I sit in the rain, alone. I'm crying, alone. I'm in pain with no shoulder to lay on. Then all of a sudden, I see a light. A beautiful white light. I have never seen anything so glorious and bright. I start walking towards it, covering my eyes so I wouldn't be blinded by the miraculous light. I walk closer and closer and I feel something. I feel...light. I feel the weight of the world coming off my shoulders. I look down at my arms and the crusted blood and scars are faded and gone. I feel my face and there's no tears falling and no pain from the bruises. I feel vibrant and fresh. I keep walking closer and closer, every step feels lighter then the last. I look down and my black, torn, dirty clothes is now a white as snow dress. I look around and there's no rain falling but I am drenched in beautiful gold sun beams shining through the trees. I keep walking and the farther I walk the more renewed I feel. The sad looking, broken, leafless trees and the brown, burnt looking grass turns into beautiful brown trees with the greenest leaves on them and beautiful green grass sprinkled in dew. There are birds singing, calm winds blowing through my hair and golden sunlight shining down on me. I look forward and see where the marvelous light is coming from. He stands before me with a smile on His face and His hands reached out towards me. Then once He started speaking I got goosebumps up and down my entire body. "My child, I have watched you suffer and I am hear to comfort you." I look around, thinking He can't be talking to me. No one ever helps me. No one has ever reached out a hand to me. "I can see the pain and sadness in your eyes and I am here to offer you new life and your sins and memories be erased. Take my hand and I will show you new light and glorify you. I will promise you eternal life and someone to always be there for you." I stand there in amazement as I see that He really means it. I can finally have someone to help me through my pain. I inch my way towards him, scared out of my mind and excited at the same time. I'm finally right in front of Him and I look up to His face. It's the most beautiful face I have ever seen. I reach out and take His hand. I already feel safer. He pulls me in and hugs me and says, "I have been waiting for you. I am ready to take you under my wings and give you new life, a life you deserve. I hope you take advantage of this. No matter the mistakes and past you have had I will forgive you. You must also forgive yourself. As long as you follow my word then I will promise you eternal life." I can never describe how safe I felt. I could've stayed in His arms forever. I am ready to start all over and erase my past, the mistakes and the pain. Wash away all the words said, all the actions done and the stress I have. I'm ready to start over. I'm ready to start new. I'm ready to start living for Him.
