Courage
Courage is being who you are. It is so much easier to pretend to be someone else. Someone cooler, more fun, someone everyone wants to be with. It's easier to wear what everyone else wears rather than the clothes you love but don't know if others would like it as well. It's easier to blend in and follow the flow.
I have an inability to share what I feel and think with others. Even my closest friends don't know everything about me. I bottle up my feelings inside where they build up and explode in my room late at night as I cry into my pillow. When this happens I take a pencil or a pen in my hand and write. I write about my deepest desires, my darkest secrets, my true feelings about my friends and family. I write about anything and everything. For some reason I can write the things I could never say. So now I write about courage I do not have. The courage to not care what others think, to say what I feel and think, to be who I really am. The person who doesn't hide their goofy grin, the girl who willingly admits she loves lima beans, the person who will walk with confidence in every footstep.
If that is not yet who I am then I will become that person.
With courage I can be me.
