Friendship Lasts Forever
Sitting in my seat alone I nervously glanced at the girl sitting in the seat in front of me. I finally got the courage to say “hello” and I’m glad I did because now, nine years later, we are best friends. I am a thirteen year old boy and most boys my age talk to girls, but they are not best friends with them. I believe boys and girls can be friends.
I consider myself lucky to be friends with both boys and girls. It doesn’t matter about their gender, it’s about their personality. I have been best friends with a girl named Lauren since we were four years old. We met in kindergarten and since then we have never treated one another differently based on our genders. Yes, we have gotten into fights before but nothing has come between us that changed our friendship. We always go on vacation together and we always hang out. Lauren is fun, silly, talkative, lazy, and trustworthy. I am glad to have a friend like Lauren because I can trust her and spend all of my extra time with her. Most of my guy friends are busy after school and on weekends because they have soccer practice or a baseball game. Lauren and I aren’t into sports, so we can hang out when my other friends can’t.
I believe boys and girls can be friends. It doesn’t matter about their gender, it matters who they are as a person. This is important because friends can help you get through tough times and make you happy. Most importantly, Lauren will be my lifelong friend.
