Accident Prone

In my early years, about three to seven, I was accident prone. I was in the hospital at least two times every few months for stitches casts and other treatments. I must have been very clumsy. As I got older I became less clumsy and a bigger risk taker. I started becoming injured from doing things without thinking them through like climbing high trees.

It all began when I was very young, I forget the exact age, and I was sitting on my mom's back while hiking. I then saw a dog and became very excited because I was intrigued and began to flail my arms and eventually fell onto my arm which broke. I crawled around with a cast for a couple of weeks. Around a year after that, I had six stitches an inch below my eye. This happened when my family had a large Dalmatian with a injured paw. I was playing and accidentally stepped on it and he snapped at me. But that wasn't the only dog that bit me. After that we got a new dog which bit me and this continued for two more dogs although I never had to go to the hospital for a dog bite again. When I was five, I experienced a traumatic event that could have been much worse than it turned out. My dad, sister, and I were on a motorboat with family friends. During the ride, we decided to swim for a while close to the boat. Our friends warned not to go close to the propeller because it would suck us and everyone avoided it but me. It wasn't a very strong motor, but I was small so it seemed powerful. It then sliced my foot barely and I was bleeding a lot. But I could have lost a foot or worse so I'm not really complaining, although I do have a faint scar on my foot from it. My worst injury probably came when I was almost four. I was learning to swim at the YMCA and I was running around the side even though I was previously warned at least two times. I then slipped and hit my head extremely hard on the concrete and butterflied by head. I was rushed to the hospital and got stitches all up my head.

After many years of injuries I have learned how to avoid serious injuries by thinking things through more. I still do dumb things, but only if I think I can do them. I also haven't had a serious injury in the past few years. So ultimately what I learned was to be careful but still do risky activities for the thrill.
