Getting Sailor
"Scratch, scritch" I heard excited howling as I ran down my driveway to the car. The hot, summery air blew gently against my face.Today I was getting a puppy! The air smelled like clean dog and pine trees. There were three girls and four boys but we already knew we wanted a girl, because we already had a boy dog named Boo. I followed my brother into the yard where the excited six month old westie puppies were pawing and chasing each other around the yard. They seemed like they had no care in the world. I sat in the cool, over grown grass and held a puppy on my lap. Her fur felt so soft, and her tiny pink tongue was licking me. I could have stayed there forever. We brought out our border collie, Boo. He seemed to like the only one with the pointy ears and so did we. So we got her. That night we decided on a name; Sailor. Sailor. It fit her perfectly.
