"Don't Stop When You're Tired Stop When You're Done"

2013, November 25 there was only 30 seconds left in the last Noble Wildcat basketball game. This is it I had to block this guy from getting to the basket and I did. Everyone has a certain obstacle they have to overcome, but never think you can not do it. Much like Helen Keller overcame her obstacle of not being able to communicate I to overcame my obstacle of being able to play defense in basketball better.
Even though Helen Keller could not overcome being blind and deaf. She overcame one obstacle that will change her life. That obstacle was not being able to communicate. Thanks to one person she was able to learn, and that person was Annie. Helen did not know that one day her life would change forever. Annie was very confident to teach Helen communication. Helen has to trust obey, and learn that words have a meaning and by the end of the story Helen did all those things. She practiced to learn.
I overcame an obstacle similar to Helen Keller. My basketball coach Brent Gardner knew I could do a lot better in my defense that what I was doing. Coach kept telling me “I know you can do better, you are a very good athletic person.” Coach made me stay after practice. We practiced for close to an hour and a half. Let me tell you it worked. Next game coach told me I played super good defence I let no one pass me. My quote is “You are not trying hard enough till you feel the sweat runs down your face.”
Sometimes you get so mad that you can not get it right. Helen kept getting mad and mad and mad because she felt like no one understands her and they do not! I felt the same way I felt like my coach was not listening to me that they did not get that I can not do what he was doing. We just both had to take a breathe and in the end me and Helen Keller did it!
Helen Keller and my obstacle are the same because we were both able to overcome something in the end. We both struggled and struggled. It was hard for me to stay down. What I learned from Helens obstacle was it was hard but if you keep trying you can do it. A famous quote from Helen Keller is “ Faith is the strength by which a shattered world shall emerge into the light.” That is my favorite quote.
