Heartbeat
“Can I have a hug?” he asked, his crystal blue eyes sparkling.
He pulled me close. He was much taller than me, so my head rested on his chest. I couldn’t feel his heartbeat… only my entire body shaking. I never realized how wonderful yet scary a first kiss could be. It was only a hug, but my whole body tingled, like I was being electrocuted. After nine months, we were getting somewhere, and I still loved him. I could have stayed there all night, but he pulled away. I smiled, and he smiled back down at me.
