The Pawn Shop
It’s was a shoe melting day in Las Vegas and not a cloud was to be seen in the sky. Las Vegas is not only a city of immense heat but is also has a lot of famous tourist attractions as well. That was one of the reasons that we visited Las Vegas was to go to the well known The Gold And Silver Pawn Shop well that and it was also during summer as well and we didn't have anything else planed. My Mom, step father Tom and I wanted to go there to see how it looked in real life because the only way we’ve seen it before was on the show Pawn Stars. It was a long and very hot walk but it was worth it. We were very excited to finally have made it, but the worst thing happened there was a very long line that went around the small perimeter of the Pawnshop that meant that there was a long wait to get inside...
The wait was very exhausting it felt like a mile long jog but you were actually just standing in place but instead with no shade and constant head beating down on you. A lot of people started to leave the line after a while due to how immensely hot it was currently so we ended up getting in faster than we expected the wait to be.
Once we finally entered the Pawn Shop the temperature around us changed immensely. It felt like you were walking into a giant refrigerator; We started to look around for cool treasures that the pawn shop has collected and accumulated over the years. The Pawn Shop was way smaller than we expected it to be because on the show it looked a lot bigger than it actually is, it was also very crowded inside because of all of the visitors."Hey Mom come look at this." I said.
“Wow most of these weapons are so old that they probably don't work anymore.” Mom replied. It was their collection of old firearms and other weaponry that were collected from previous wars. There were a few weapons that stood out more than others did due to how old they looked and probably were, you could tell that the weapon was old because of the rusty metal barrels and blades and chips and cracks in the handles. There were a lot of other things in the shop that were really cool, like one of a kind pieces of art that they have collected over the years that they have. Also there was a lot of collectable old toys some of them were a bit rusty-but they were also a bit interesting.
While we were looking around the shop my stomach started to growl. I'm hungry also but I think we should look around for a bit while we're here and then go look for something to eat. Mom said.
There was a poster on the wall that said that they would have someone from the show. The random character from the show would be taking pictures with people and handing out autographs. “This must have been the reason that we were waiting for so long is that some people wanted to try and wait for a guest to visit the shop.” I said.
So we all looked around some more to see if we could find some other interesting collections of theirs while we were waiting. One of the cool thing that I found was a old decoding device that would decipher old coded messages during the World Wars so the enemy would not figure out their plans. There was also a collection of Super Bowl rings that they have collected from both past and recent Super Bowls.
My stomach started to growl again this time just louder and it started to ache.I was thinking about all sorts of food that were so delicious and I could feel my mouth start to drool a little. I just need to just last out a little bit longer I thought to myself. “I think we should leave to get something to eat.” Tom said.
“We should just wait a little bit longer.” I answered.
Just in time after all the wait the guest from the show finally arrived. It was the Pawn Stars authenticator for historical objects, Mark Hall-Patton. We got to take pictures with him and Mark also gave us autographed pictures as well. Mark is also the owner of the Clark County Museum that is also in Vegas.
We ended up leaving afterwards to go and find something that we all wanted to eat. It was a really fun to visit the Gold And Silver Pawn Shop. We got to do and see everything we wanted to do while we were there before we needed to leave.
“Sometimes a little patience pays off.” My Mom said.
“I guess it does after all.” I replied
