Straight down to the bottom I went, fighting for the little particles of air that rose to the top of the water. The horrible taste of chlorine filled my mouth as I pleaded for help, but I was alone as a tumbleweed in a desert.
¨HELP HELP!¨ I pleaded, as the bubbles flew out of my mouth, and entered the air I so desperately wanted back. The water jets determined I was alone, The sad bubbles and water swishing above my face, mocking me.

Trying to find the cause of what happened, I realize a grip on my hair growing tighter, and tighter.  Pull, yank, pull, yank, repeating like a decimal on a calculator. The only thing I could do, was count the bubbles arising to the top, waiting for my death sentence. The sound of the jet kept buzzing, like a phone on vibrate.  Only louder, and more vigorous! Stuck at the bottom of a 5 ft. hot tub at my house, I was gripping on my hair so the pain was less painful on my head.

How am I going to get out of this? What am I thinking, I will never feel the fresh air again! Just as I thought my seconds were up, I saw a blurry shadow across the waterline. A hand dove in as fast as a torpedo, yanking my head above the surface. Lots of coughing and water everywhere, heat pouring off of my body like lava spilling from a volcano. I didn't even think about thanking my friend as I sped past her faster than a bullet.

Not looking back, I run into my mother? room so fast, I thought I teleported.

¨Mom! mom! I almost died!¨ I remember that moment of where her eyes were in so much fear like I was a murderer and I was pointing a gun at her. She knew exactly what happened, she was always good at that. I felt my hair as I was telling the story, and noticed a chunk of my hair taken out. My friend ran into the room, as I totally forgot about her. My mother hugged me as tight as a bolt being screwed in, as I was beginning to loose air all over again. After my head began to spin like a twister, I was released.

My friends and I were going to go play tag, and even though my lungs felt like they were carrying a sea, I did it anyway.  From then on I felt like I understood how people felt when they were stuck in a body of water.  No one to save them, constantly being pulled under, and waiting for the death sentence. This changed me because I realized you always have to be cautious, even when you feel you are at the most safe point of your life, you have to be careful.
