Lost in New York
It was about 8 years ago on a warm summer day:hotter than normal when my family and I took a trip to New York city. My sisters Ashley and Rachael, my brother Michael, my mom and dad, my grandpa and I were all on the trip. Everyone was really looking forward to the trip. We had been planning it for a while; Unfortunately the trip did not go as planned...
My family and I were in New York. We had gotten on the boat to go to Liberty Island to see the Statue of Liberty. We were all tired from the long ride and hungry. The city was so crowded and loud and so was the boat.
When we got off the boat we walked over to the Statue of Liberty-then we walked into a little gift shop around the corner. After being in the gift shop about ten minutes my grandpa walked out. So I walked out with him- -but what I did not know was that the doors lead to different places and I thought that my grandpa was right behind me but when I turned around he was not there I did not know where he was or my mom and was I was so scared and sad.
I walked over to the bridge by the boat. Then I just sat down on the ground and started crying. An older lady came over to to me.
“What’s wrong?”she asked.
“I want my mommy,” I said.
“What can I do to help?” she said.
“I want my mommy!” I yelled as I was crying.
She walked away and then came back two minutes later with a cop.
“Officer you have to help her find her mother,” the lady said.
“I will see what I can do,” said the officer.
“Okay” said the lady.
The Officer took me back to the station.
“What is your name?” he asked.
“Arianna VanEck” I said.
“What is your mother name?”
“Mommy” I said.
“No what is her name? he asked
“Jeana” I said.
“Okay” he said.
He said over the intercom “Jeana VanEck come to the station we found your child.”
My mom came running in. “I love you so much don’t ever do that to me again!” she said to me.
“I love you to and I won’t” I said really happy
Then my dad came in with the rest of my family.
“Can we get ice cream?” Ashley, Rachael, and Michael asked
“Sure”said mom and dad
We left and went and got ice cream. Then got back on the boat to get off the island so we could get in the car and drive home.
In conclusion me getting lost in New York changed me because now I know not to walk away from my family and that we need to stick together and we can’t give up on each other. An now because of this I have anxiety when i’m away from my mother to long and don’t know where she is.My stumch start to hurt and I can’t make it better unil I see or talk to my mother. It has been getting better over the years.
