My Story
Let's be honest here. This is no place for a blogger. In fact, it's crazy that I thought this would be a good idea. The thing is, I hate magazines, even ones with open topics. Do you know why? Because everybody is asked to write the exact same way, or they do it anyways. Well, I don’t like that one bit so I decided to make an account, show you all exactly what type of writing I do and allow the readers to decide whether I need to be here or not.
I will start off by telling you a little bit about me. Good? Great. For starters, I am not a writer. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE writing, but because I am opinionated and speak my mind, I’m not cut out for it, At least that’s what all of my writing teachers have told me. You should also know that I am a… different type of person. I would rather spend my time in my bedroom learning about anything and everything before I get caught going out. I think I should stop here before you get the wrong idea about me.
Okay, now what I would like to do is share with you a little story about what happened a few years ago. I was in 8th grade and had a teacher who everybody hated. I couldn’t figure out why because she seemed like a nice lady who was passionate about her job and loved all of her students. She was always so kind to me. I aced her tests, she gave me A’s. This is how my life went, well that is until she gave our writing assignment. We had to research animal testings and write a report on it. Well, I already knew that I would ace this paper, like I did all of the others. Days of writing went by, and soon I had twenty five pages typed up and ready to give to her. She looked at the title of my paper, smiled at me and told me to follow her. She led me into the teachers lounge and shoved my paper into the paper shredder. “It wasn’t on the right side. I don’t believe in the side you wrote for and you will fail as a writer.” This hit me hard. Writing was my passion, my joy! I had always wrote my papers exactly like this. Opinionated, honest, and all of the nonsense was taken out. I simply don’t believe that adding useless filler words make your writing more appealing. On every paper, I would always translate it into something that critics would like to see. On that last paper though, I decided I would try to write in my style. When she failed me and told me that I would never succeed, I stopped. I simply stopped writing. She took the joy out of it for me and I could no longer pick my pen back up. Then, something changed. I began to not care what people thought. I gained the courage to write on this website, anonymously.
Now, if you have gotten this far, it's pretty clear that you either have way too much time on your hands, or you actually like my writing style. I honestly don’t care which it is, but thank you for at least reading it.
