The Way You Loved Me
You loved me with mean words and clenched fists. With late night whispers saying "I'm sorry, it won't happen again." You loved me in a way no one else could. Always harsh and direct. I was left with no other choice but to stay. You loved me the same way everyday until you died. I told you the drugs would be the death of you. But now that I'm alone with no one but myself. I miss the way you loved me. I grew fond of it it over the years. You loved me in a way that left black and blue "love marks" all over my skin. Your love left me with scars that to this day I still trace with my fingers while wishing you were still here. I loved the way you love me. I hope one day someone else can love me the way you did.
