Hard Work
As I walked onto the stage… I arrived at the tournament at seven AM in the morning ready to warm up. I saw all of my friends warming up said hi and then I was back to being committed to winning. I walked up to the first tee after an hour and a half of warming up, I stepped up and they called my name to the tee. I CRUSHED it down the middle I was so happy and then, of course, the cameraman and the dude said “ and for Kilburn, it’s a 275-yard drive right down the middle.” I then started walking down the fairway happily waiting for my next shot to come. I had to wait for my group partners to hit before I did. I had about 103 in and I stuck it right next to the flag, I walked up to the green and tapped it in for birdie. As I felt the putter hit the golf ball I knew it had gone in. I let all the confidence and happiness flow in. I kept hitting all the great shots had some rough holes but pulled through and ended up shooting even and winning the golf tournament. GREAT! I won, but now I have to focus on training and practicing for next week's tournament. The training that goes into playing the sport of golf competitively is a lot. It’s not just physical training it’s mental training as well, you have to have an outstanding mental game to play the game of golf. If you don’t, the second you have a bad hole you’re done. It is really important to have a trainer in golf to help you figure out what kind of workouts you have to do to prepare your body for long stretches of physical activity. The mental part of the game revolves around relaxing when you have a bad hole or hit a bad shot and be POSITIVE. Positivity is very important if you are hard on yourself it does not go well, I know from experience. There are a couple more things you can do to prepare yourself for the tournaments. You NEED TO EAT HEALTHY enough so you can perform at your highest. There is one more thing PRACTICE day in and day out go out to your local range and just hit all sorts of scenario shots see what you’re doing at the moment try to max out your driver distance. Last but not least is your short game. SPEND 70 PERCENT ON SHORT GAME, if you want to be good short game will help you. Say you hit a good drive but then you pull your iron to the right so you have to chip, you need to put it close and make the PUTT. Overall hard work is very crucial for golf and that’s what you need to win.
