one point
They lose the game by only one point. They came so far just to fall so short. One less missed shot. One free throw made. The game would be there’s to celebrate. The crowd would cheer for them and chant there names. But not anymore. Alls they hear is good job and nice try as they walk away with their heads down. They can’t sleep at that night. Tossing and turning about the game. The see it in their dreams. They can feel the ball in their hands. The smooth leather sliding of their fingers as the ball leaves their hands. The swoosh as it goes through the net. The win the game. But only in their dreams. They wake up to find that their dreams are not reality and they lost. Nothing to show, the team that almost made it. They have to wait until next year for another chance.
