Your stomach is in knots
Waiting for the gun.
On your marks,
Get set,
Boom!
You start sprinting.
All of your worries melt away.
The cold wind is rushing into your face.
You feel like you can grasp the wind in your hands.
Everything feels like it’s going in slow motion.
You want to win,
If only you could get ahead.
You want to push yourself to the limit,
It’ll all be wasted if you don’t sprint harder.
You have nothing to lose.
People are cheering.
You’re behind your competitor.
A rush of anger comes over you,
And you pass them.
Suddenly,
You are ahead.
Passing the finish line,
You realize you have won!
Life is great,
Especially when you earn the glory!
