You run as fast as cheetah
All they can see of you is a streak of red white and blue
You’re nation’s colors; you are representing them in the Olympics
You grasp the baton so tightly, you’re knuckles turn white
You can feel the sweat dripping down you’re forehead as you push you’re legs harder and harder
You’re heaving sides are aching and begging for you to stop
But you never will
The sound of the audience fades as you go into your own little world
You think to yourself, I can do it. I can do anything…
You keep your eyes on the ground
Making sure that you won’t trip over yourself
You see the finish line creeping closer and closer
So you push your shuddering legs even harder
You are almost there
Your heart is beater faster and faster as excitement overwhelms you
Nobody is in front of you, you’re going to win
You cross the line
The deafening sound of the audience comes back
You trot another lap to cool down and raise you’re hands in victory
You are finally a gold medalist
