Varsity Girls and Boys Basketball
The girls basketball season officially starts on November 10th, 2014. Tryouts will be held for the varsity team at 3pm in the West gym on November 10th and 11th. November 12th is the first day that the team is scheduled to have official practice and will start preparing for the season.
Last year the girls made it to the sectional finals. The team played Kimberly at Sheboygan North and it came down to the last play. Arrowhead was up by one with seven seconds left when Kimberly had possession of the ball. The score was 42-41 and Frankie Wurtz made a layup in the remaining seconds in order to advance Kimberly to the state tournament.
On Saturday, November 15th, the girls team has a scrimmage at Brookfield Central at 10am. The scrimmage should be helpful preparation for the game against Puis on November 22nd. The game is at Arrowhead in the West gym at 5:30pm.
“It should be a really good first game. We have both similarities, and there should be a good crowd. I am really excited,” says varsity senior Ally May.
The boys season begins a week after the girls’ season. The boys’ season officially starts on November 17th. The boys’ varsity tryouts are after school at 3pm in the West gym. The tryouts are on November 17th and then they start practicing on November 18th.
The boys first game is on December 2nd against Oconomowoc at 7:30pm. The game will be played at Oconomowoc High School, but will not count in the conference record considering this is a non conference game.
“I had a lot of fun last year playing with the my teammates. A lot of them are coming back so I am excited to be playing with them again. I am anxious to see what the season brings,” says senior varsity player, Brett Brester.
