Moment of Truth
January 30, 2009
I stepped up to the plate. There are men on second and third with two outs in the bottom of the seventh. The first pitch blazes in, ball one outside. I step out of the box and take a deep breath. Here comes the next pitch, strike one. Again I step out of the batter's box and take a deep breath along with a practice swing. Then, I step back in the box; the pitcher winds up and throws. All in one motion I swung as hard as I could and the ball blasted over the fence for a three run home run to tie the game.
