Summary:
When Beca McCormick is in the first grade a horrible tragedy befalls her family - the death of her father. Everything changes in her life. She once knew security and safety and love and suddenly she knows none of that. Because of this, she grows up distant and unforgiving and thinking of herself as unlovable. The fall that she is nineteen though, something happens that will change the way Beca sees love, life, and herself forever.
