Why is money important? The question is asked by men of business and hippies alike. The idea of something that is massed printed in a building enhancing freedom and improving quality of life is one that many can’t grasp onto. Though a difficult idea, it is true in our reality and people should pay more attention to their financial situation. Early on in our lives, we learn ways to get to money that through societal progression are becoming obsolete, for example, college. The average college debt is over one hundred thousand dollars. The average amount of money made coming out of college is twenty-eight thousand dollars. Through interest and the amount of time, it takes to make back your student loans college can easily become a hamster wheel that no one can escape. Though I’m not saying that college should not be attended I am saying that it is a good safety net and should not be used to secure your first choice job. The philosophy that I’m speaking on will lead to more innovators and entrepreneurs, at the same time the idea of leaving college as a safety net will lessen the number of people who feel like they don't belong anywhere in the working world.  The proof is in the pudding, as 80 percent of billionaires did not go to college or dropped out of college. All in all, I believe college is important, but we should all remember that the end goal is to be financially free and we all need to use college as a tool and not as our only option. It is important that everybody is willing to work hard to obtain their goals and not just follow a path set out.
