Feeling lonely And Don't Know Why?

Technology could be why. Now a days the youth is using social media and technology to learn, communicate, and have fun. There are no real interactions anymore just facetime, texting and posting.

Youth has a higher risk because of being lonely because technology is a substitute for human interactions. Teens tend to hide behind screens because they feel the need to hide their insecurities and imperfections. There is no need to talk face to face when you could message someone over a digital chat room accessible to the public. There is no commitment or need to leave their homes! This is exactly the problem.

People need actual human interaction to be happy. Using skype or facetime does not help as much as you think it would. Using laptops can make people lonely and depressed due to the lack of human interaction. Replacing people by using skype or facetime is not a good way to keep in touch.

With the youth being so attached to technology it is harder for parents to talk to them. Taking them from their kids is not an option because of how attached they are. Kids feel like when parents take something from them it is the end of the world they can't communicate with friends , and they can't see what is happening.

Technology no one uses them for what they were made for, for example they dont answer the phone because it is a social anxiety thing. With texting they don't have to have a real conversation and don't have to hear the tone the other person is talking with.

In the last 5 years depression in teens has gotten a lot higher. As a result, diagnoses have gone up 47 percent since 2013 among millennials (ages 18–34).

With teen depression no one knows how to deal with it or help with it because it affects people in different ways and  people just think oh you're sad its okay “just be happy” will help.

Also teens are using social media as a bullying outlet. They are using anonymous accounts to cyber bully anyone they want. Which is causing other teens to fall into deep depression and even have really bad anxiety but they don't tell anyone because they are embarrassed.

One study says that teens use social media to make their lives look better than they are. They also use it for popularity. So depending on how many likes they get on one post determines how popular they are.

In conclusion teens should work on themselves before trying to satisfy their friends. They don't understand that being happy with your life and not living up to the expectations of what people want them to is still okay as long as they are happy with themselves.

Parents want their kids to understand that they don't need technology to be happy. When they talk about how they had to grow up without technology teens tend to ignore it because they don't have to experience that and don’t care enough to understand how happy you can still be without technology.

Nowadays no one is seen without technology. You see every vacation a person takes and every “sad”thing that happens to them. Even people posting about a family birthday even if that family member doesn't have social media.

People should put down technology and go out and enjoy life and talk to friends.

However putting down technology and giving your brain a social interaction can help you immensely. The way to stop ongoing depression and loneliness due to technology is to have human interaction and connections.
