Respect?
"Who do you respect more? Meryl Streep or Paris Hilton?" My teacher asks me.
I quickly answer Meryl Streep without thinking, simply because I like her work more than Paris'.
However, the sudden answer I gave is not what I meant to say. I respect them both equally. I respect anyone who can make a living for themsleves doing what they love. I may like one more than the other, but affection shouldn't play a part in respect. I wish I could go back and recall what I misspoke. I would say that anyone who can find a way to do what they love deserves my respect because in some ways, I want to be like them. I want to wake up every morning and do what I love. Anyone who can say that they have accomplished that deserves my respect.
