Waukesha County Treasure
Picture yourself as a kid. You’re on your way to your favorite place in the whole world...the park. You look out your car window and begin ecstatically jumping at the sight of it. You finally arrive and your mom’s car is parked. You throw open the door and race out like a bull during a rodeo. You feel the warm summer sun on your face and the soft crunch of wood chips beneath your feet. You sprint towards the biggest slide in the park. You frantically climb the steps tripping on the way up. You excitedly walk up to the entrance of the slide. You immediately throw yourself down. You come down with massive speed and smack into the wood chips full on. You simply dust yourself off. You smile and laugh, you are home. You are at Fireman’s Park.
Fireman’s Park truly is a treasure of Waukesha County. For decades it has been entertaining children. Parks used to be fun as a child--and can even be now.
When you were in the park as a child, you could be anything. You could play games with your friends and imagine you’re someone else. The park turns playing with sticks into a lightsaber battle and swinging on the tire swing into a spaceship ride.
Fireman’s is my favorite place to go and I will definitely take my own children there later in life. Fireman’s Park makes people feel imaginative and young again--that’s why it’s a treasure of Waukesha County.
