Valentines day!
What is the point in Valentines day? Yes, I know we celebrate the undying love we have for one another but is it necessary to make all us single people feel alone. There should be a day where all the single people in the world celebrate being single and not having to stick to one person all the time. Enjoy having the freedom to say that another boy or girl is cute. It should be called Anti-valentines day.
You’ve always been told that Valentines day is a day to be happy and be in love but no we don’t have to be in love. We can be just as happy being single and just having people around who care about us, like family and friends. Nobody needs others to be happy, everyone can be completely alone and still be happy. So, I think Valentines day is pointless to us, I know I’d much rather sit and watch a soppy movie and eat ice cream like all us single people should.
Valentines day is also a day to tell people you love or fancy them and then be rejected because they don’t really like you back. One of my friends is being crushed on by a guy and he got her a necklace with two rings on it. When we all saw the rings on the necklace we thought he was proposing to her, but instead he just asked her out. She said ‘I don’t know’ then made her other friends tell him no, she couldn’t just say no because she’s too nice but now everyone is winding her up. So this is one of the reasons I don’t think valentines day is all that necessary.
So lets all celebrate Anti-valentines day and be happy and proud to be single.
